BIOCHAR

Maple Leaf Biochar is a 100% plant-based natural soil improver that has been recognized for hundreds of years. Our biochar is produced by carbonizing forest biomass. Its use in plant crops brings several advantages.

BENEFITS

– Improves and maintains the development of microorganisms, promoting plant growth.
– Helps build soil structure, protecting against compaction and promoting aeration and root development.
– Provides nutrients and gradually releases them into the soil, reducing the need for supplements.
– Works in synergy with other horticultural agents such as compost, fertilizer, mycorrhizae and others, optimizing their contribution to soil structure and reducing leaching.
– Favors the retention of water and nutrients close to the root system, thanks to its porous structure.
– Supports sustainable agriculture by reducing the use of chemicals in the soil.
– Helps balance acid soils.
– Offsets greenhouse gas emissions by acting as a soil carbon sink. It therefore reduces the release of CO2 into the atmosphere.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Refer to the dosing chart below for the quantity to be used. Soak biochar before use. (Recommended min. time: 2 hours.) Soaking optimizes contact between biochar and soil and improves mixing efficiency. Repeat application every two years. For basic soils, use only half the recommended dose.

Containers: 1 part biochar to 5 parts potting soil. Mix evenly in the container.

Vegetable gardens and flowerbeds: 9 liters of biochar for a 10 m2 surface. Mix into soil, between 0 and 15 cm deep. Repeat every 2 years.

Lawns: When sowing, 9 liters of biochar for a 25 m2 surface. Mix into soil between 0 and 5 cm deep.

Trees: 1 part biochar to 5 parts soil mixture. Planting: place the mix at the bottom of the hole before planting the tree. To add to a mature tree: dig a trench around the tree, put the mix in it and cover.
